Best team in NHL vs Worst team in NHL
November 29th, 2008 by Brad6-2. That’s about what the score should be when the best team in the league plays the worst team in the league, right? No surprises there.
A turnover at the blue line… San Jose goal.
Joe Thornton behind the net, uncovered, Boyle cruising right between the circles, uncovered… San Jose goal. But hey, those other 3 sharks were covered really well, right?
Then there’s this which happened twice:

That’s little Stephan Robidas tasked with trying to deal with someone 2 feet taller than he is in front of the net. I dont’ remember which massive Shark that is, but he has both of of his feet in the crease and his ass in Marty’s face and the shot from the point gets through. Same thing on Rob-”My-God-How-Old-Am-I?”-Blake’s goal in the second period. It makes good sense. That’s just stealing right out of Detroits’ playbook and the Stars can’t handle the traffic in front.
The highlight of the evening was a delayed call on SJ in the third period, and backup goalie Stephan skated to the bench so fast he made Mike Ribeiro, who he passed by, look like he was standing still. Let’s try Stephan at center. Ours are too slow.
Everyone who watches this team is out of ideas. There doesn’t seem to be anything that can be done. I don’t want to get rid of Tippett, I think he’s a good NHL coach. Too bad you can’t bench your coach for a few games like you can a player.
One thing’s for sure: James Neal, Loui Eriksson, and Toby Petersen should all be wearing A’s next game. Those guys are no Brenden Morrow, but they’re doing their best Morrow imitation for sure, and it’s the only thing there is to like right now.

I saw that! He’s speedy when he needs to be.
