Hull to USA Hockey Hall of Fame
August 12th, 2008 by BradThe press release reads that Cammi Granato, Brett Hull, Brian Leetch and Mike Richter will be enshrined in the USA hockey hall of fame, which apparently is in Minnesota. I wouldn’t think we’d need another hockey hall of fame on this continent, but the more the merrier?
Mike Modano was recently inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, so there might be an abundance of the things all over.
Our former “Ambassador of fun” is surely deserving, having amassed 741 goals (3rd all time) and 1,391 points. Also, he should be enshrined for managing to convince Tom Hicks it was a good idea to let him spend his money and play a lot of golf as Co-GM.
I’m glad to see Mike Richter getting some recognition as well. My lasting memory of him will always be when he won the MVP of the 2006 World Cup, and they gave him that big Harley they rolled out to center ice. Of course that was the international hockey equivalent of saying “You only beat us because your goaltender played well,” but Richter was a good guy.
But let us not forget the finest American tradition carried on by the Golden Brett:

Making Buffalo a miserable place to live and watch sports.
