Take (Avery) out to the Ball Game
August 7th, 2008 by BradSean Avery has been making his debut tour around DFW this week, and was heard this morning on KTCK 1310 The Ticket. They asked him if he was the most hated player in the league, and this was his approximate response:
“100%, I do nasty things, nasty things with my stick, I try to hurt guys. I say nasty things about their personal lives. I’m like athletes foot, or crabs.”
So there you have it straight from the horses mouth. He’s like “crabs”.
They also asked him if he had mended any bridges since he’d been here, and he said he went out to the Rangers game last night with Marty and Brenden, and laughed everything (the past) off. So that’s good to hear. He also threw out the first pitch. I just wish they had taken Otter with them as well; He made no mention of Steve Ott.
When asked his honest opinion of the Stars last season, he said “Well obviously they are better than the team I left,” and that the Stars are “very close.” So Rangers fans will be happy about that.
He also discussed fashion and women, already cognizant of the fact that Dallas is great for the latter. I don’t know why, but even to a guy coming from New York, Dallas has the best woman scene. Suck on that SoCal. Otherwise I found him to be just as arrogant and abrasive as everyone says. It’s going to be interesting times this season. I hope he takes a swing by the AAC home penalty box so he can give some decorating tips.

Glad he’s back in the west. I do not like this guy. He has some skill, but is more of a showman and his showmanship is about being an ass****. There are agitators I would like on my team (Matt Barnaby for one, Darcy Tucker for another) and Sean Avery is not one of them. The way he waved at Brodeur during the playoffs to distract and claimed it to be within the rules was ridiculous. I’m glad we do not have to see his antics at HSBC arena this year.
Can’t argue the women point since I’ve never been to Dallas…though I must say the airport with the highest % of beautiful women has got to be Atlanta.
