Remember the Eastern Conference?
July 22nd, 2008 by BradFor the season ticket holder, the schedule is like your road map and your bible for the coming 8 or 9 months. Travel schedules, any appointments.. social engagements…all answered with “Do we have a game that day?”
It’s a wonderful thing. And we don’t have to see the Pacific division 8 times each!
See the Stars schedule HERE
The schedule starts off a little weird again this year, with 2 back to backs and 4 days in between and then another back to back a week later. All in all the Stars have
-12 back to backs (13 last year)
-A longest road trip of 5 games that starts in October (6 game trip last year)
-10 of the first 15 on the road (a little rougher than last year)
-A nice busy March. The Stars were plagued by a very sparse schedule last year at the end.
Over all, it looks pretty favorable throughout, and we get to see that pesky Eastern Conference a lot more this year including visits from Ovechkin and Crosby to the AAC. The Penguins visit here right after the All-Star game in 2007 was probably the most entertaining hockey we’ve had at a regular season game since the lock out.
Oddly enough, the Stars do not play the Red Wings at all after Jan 29th. The two teams play each other three times in the month of January, and 4 times in 6 weeks. In the good old days there would have been a nice Detroit/Dallas Sunday afternoon game on the national broadcast, but I guess nothing but the Rangers and the Pens will do for NBC.
